Fez Student Arrested for False Bomb Threat, Police Say

The prefectural judicial police service of Fez proceeded, on Monday, to the arrest of an 18-year-old student. He is accused of his alleged involvement in a case of slanderous denunciation of a fictitious crime.
On Thursday, December 5, 2019, the accused had contacted the command and coordination room of the Fez police prefecture. He alerted them to the presence of two explosive bombs at the home of a person located in the "Labita" district, according to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Following this denunciation, the security elements reacted very quickly. The investigations made it possible to discover that it was a false alert.
Arrested, the defendant was placed in custody at the disposal of the judicial investigation to elucidate the ins and outs of these criminal acts as well as their motivations, the statement concludes.
