Armed Suspect Arrested in Tangier After Violent Assault and Police Standoff

A man was arrested on Saturday in Tangier for physically assaulting a person. This arrest took place after the intervention of a peace officer who was forced to draw his service weapon.
During his arrest, the individual not only put up fierce resistance but threatened the police elements with a bladed weapon. The 28-year-old suspect, due to a conflict, was endangering the life of another person by inflicting blows to the head. This led to the intervention of a motorcycle patrol from the mobile units of the Tangier emergency police, according to the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Narrowly saved by the police, the injured person was taken to the emergency room of the Tangier regional hospital to receive the necessary care. The defendant, for his part, was taken into custody, pending the investigation carried out to determine the exact circumstances of this knife attack, the same source specifies.
