Scorching Heat Wave Grips Morocco: Temperatures Soar to 47°C in Multiple Regions

A heat wave is expected until Sunday in several Moroccan regions, warned the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) in an orange alert bulletin.
Maximum temperatures ranging between 44 and 47 degrees are expected until Sunday in Tata, Taroudant, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour and Aousserd, the same source said.
Temperatures between 40 and 44 degrees will be recorded in the provinces of Fquih Ben Salah, Beni Mellal, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Rehamna, Settat, Chichaoua, Marrakech, Youssoufia, Azilal, Al Haouz, Tan-Tan, Guelmim and Laâyoune, according to the DGM.
The heat wave will extend from Friday to Sunday to the provinces of Essaouira, Safi, Sidi Bennour, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Tiznit, Sidi Ifni and Tarfaya, where temperatures will also reach 40 to 44 degrees.
