Salé Corruption Scandal: 5 Police Officers Arrested for Extortion and Misconduct
Six people, including five police officers serving in Salé, were arrested and referred to the public prosecutor for their alleged involvement in a case of extortion, corruption and breach of professional secrecy.
These are a police officer, two police inspectors and two police officers, as well as their intermediary. The General Directorate of National Security states that its services received a complaint accusing the Salé police officers of extortion and corruption.
An investigation was conducted "seriously" and led to the arrest of the five agents and their intermediary. In addition to their presentation before the prosecutor, the five agents were temporarily relieved of their duties.
