Moroccan Police Officers Arrested for Alleged Corruption in Alcohol Seizure Case

A peace officer and a police inspector have been the subject of an investigation opened by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police since Friday, in order to determine the criminal acts they are accused of. These two police officers stationed at the Kenitra police prefecture are accused of corruption and extortion.
According to the initial elements of the investigation, the two police officers would have extorted money from an unlicensed alcohol vendor, instead of seizing the goods in his possession, indicates the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release.
Pending the completion of the investigation that will determine the criminal acts attributed to the two police officers, they have been taken into custody. As for the victim, he is also the subject of a judicial investigation for his alleged involvement in the unauthorized marketing of alcoholic beverages.
