He said he wanted to get people off the streets: Moroccan influencer Mounim Sabhi jailed, mansion seized
Mounim Sabhi said he took in homeless people and people suffering from addictions to help them rebuild their lives. The Moroccan influencer has just been placed in pretrial detention. The authorities have also seized the mansion where he filmed their daily lives.
Followed by more than 100,000 people on TikTok, Mounim Sabhi had created “La Team du Château,” a reality show broadcast on TikTok, Kick and Twitch. Homeless and precarious people, as well as people struggling with addictions, lived in a mansion in Saint-Gervais-la-Forêt, near Blois, under the cameras’ watch.
The 46-year-old presented this arrangement as a social project. He said he wanted to “get people off the streets” and support them in their fight against addictions, particularly alcohol addiction. His videos had nevertheless drawn the authorities’ attention, and they had been investigating since April the living conditions and scenes filmed in the mansion.
Born in Rabat, Mounim Sabhi holds Moroccan nationality, according to the articles of association of one of his companies.

The influencer was arrested at the mansion on Monday morning and then placed in police custody. On Wednesday, September 23, the public prosecutor of Blois, Stéphane Javet, announced that he had been placed in pretrial detention, reported Le Parisien.
Violence and humiliation broadcast live
The prosecutor’s office accuses him of “numerous acts of violence and humiliation” targeting people housed there, most of whom were in situations of extreme vulnerability or precariousness. Some scenes were allegedly filmed and then broadcast live on social media.
Mounim Sabhi will notably stand trial for violence against a vulnerable person, fraudulent abuse of a person’s state of weakness or dependency, broadcasting images showing an intentional violation of a person’s physical integrity, and publicly inciting hatred or violence on the grounds of disability or sex.
His partner, who is also being prosecuted in the same case, was placed under judicial supervision. Both will appear before the Blois criminal court on November 19.
The liberties and detention judge also ordered the seizure of the mansion in Saint-Gervais-la-Forêt. The prosecutor’s office considers the building where the videos were filmed to be “the instrument of several of the offenses” being prosecuted.
