ISAE Antwerp riot: Moroccan influencer's troubled past resurfaces

The visit of YouTuber ISAE to Antwerp for a fundraising event sparked violent riots Saturday evening. A serious incident that revives the troubled judicial past of the Moroccan-origin influencer, recently released from prison for insurance fraud.

Yasser Ghermaoui, known by the pseudonym ISAE, was conducting a stop on his Belgian tour at a restaurant in Antwerp-North to help a young fan suffering from cancer. The situation quickly deteriorated due to the influx of nearly three hundred young people. Without apparent reason, the crowd threw stones, eggs and fireworks at the establishment and law enforcement. Police had to deploy multiple intervention teams to restore order late in the evening, making seven administrative arrests for public disorder in the process.
