Controversial Moroccan TikToker Arrested for Public Indecency and Defamation

The Moroccan influencer "Chikha Moulinex" was arrested this Friday, December 13 in Marrakech, following multiple complaints for insults, defamation and public indecency.
Accused of blasphemy and promoting behaviors contrary to Moroccan values, including homosexuality, the young man had sparked controversy with provocative videos and offensive comments on social media.
A human rights association filed a complaint, denouncing a "manifest offense to the religious and moral identity of Moroccan society." Known for his videos on TikTok where he appeared dressed in women’s clothing, "Moulinex" then distinguished himself by live broadcasts with vulgar language and controversial content.
His arrest is part of a national campaign against "celebrities of mediocrity," these influencers who disseminate content deemed harmful to the values of society. Faced with this growing phenomenon, the Moroccan authorities intend to strengthen the control of social networks and firmly sanction publications promoting vulgarity and mediocrity.
The arrest of "Moulinex" is a message aimed at deterring anyone who would try to undermine social values through social networks.
Update of December 15: the influencer has just denied his arrest. However, complaints against him remain ongoing.
