Morocco: three sensitive cases related to TikTokers examined

Behind these cases is the association Clés et Solutions, led by Samira Bekkali. Several years ago, it launched the "Zéro Tafaha" campaign on social media to denounce harmful online content. Initially focused on the mediocrity of content, this campaign has gradually expanded to what the association calls digital crime. According to Samira Bekkali, several reports and complaints have been filed regarding very visible cases on social networks.

It all started with a neighborhood dispute. Adam Benchekroun and his mother were accused by their neighbors of making noise late at night and hurling insults during their TikTok live streams, where they asked internet users to "tap" to send them money. Last November 15, Adam and his mother were arrested and then presented to the public prosecutor’s office. Recently become of legal age, Adam is being tried before the court of first instance, Médias24 reports.

According to Me Bouchaib Soufi, lawyer for the association Clés et Solutions, the young man is accused of public indecency, illegal homosexuality, insult and defamation against a woman because of her sex, incitement to commit offenses, recording and dissemination of images without consent, spreading false allegations, recruitment of people for prostitution via social networks, making available premises for the practice of prostitution, and tolerance of the habitual practice of prostitution.

As for his mother, she is being prosecuted for 17 crimes and offenses, the most serious of which concern human trafficking through sexual exploitation via pornographic content disseminated on communication media, including outside the national territory. She is also accused of sexual activities, defamation and public indecency through nudity. As an aggravating circumstance, she received money in exchange for images of her son. Her detailed interrogation is scheduled for this Wednesday, November 26.

As for Moulinex, a content creator known for his dances and live disputes, he is being prosecuted for human trafficking through sexual exploitation, including the prostitution of others through pornographic videos and social networks involving minors under 18, in an international context. In addition, there are charges of publishing and disseminating pornographic content involving minors, public indecency, illegal homosexuality, defamation and insults. The association claims that "several young people have been sent to Turkey or Spain to be exploited and do not dare to speak."
