30 years in prison faced: the mother of the TikToker Adam Benchakroun in prison
The case involving the TikToker from Tangier, Adam Benchakroun, has taken a criminal turn this weekend. The Court of Appeal of Tangier ordered the detention of the young man’s mother, while deciding to separate the proceedings brought against her and her son.
The investigating judge decided, on Saturday, November 15, to incarcerate the mother in the local prison of Asilah after a long hearing. This measure was taken due to the extreme seriousness of the accusations against her, which could lead to a sentence of up to 30 years in prison. Her file is forwarded to the Criminal Chamber for trial.
The charges are heavy. She faces accusations of "human trafficking for sexual exploitation", "pimping" and "exploitation through pornographic material". These offenses would have been "committed by an ascendant and have a cross-border character". She must also answer for the dissemination of false allegations, defamation, insults and violence, as well as indecent assault.
The TikToker prosecuted for "minor offenses"
Contrary to his mother, Adam Benchakroun is the subject of less serious accusations. The investigating judge decided to separate his case and direct it to the Court of First Instance, where he will be prosecuted for "minor offenses".
The situation of the TikToker will be examined shortly. He should be presented to the public prosecutor in order to analyze the accusations against him and determine his procedural status for the continuation of the case.
