Royal Gendarmerie Deployed to Support Morocco’s Coronavirus Response Plan

The Royal Gendarmerie is called in to help pilot the monitoring and response plan put in place by the government to deal with the spread of the coronavirus.
Marking the ground for the medical teams mobilized to map the virus and trace suspected cases, their contacts and their entourage. This is the task assigned to these specialized brigades of the Royal Gendarmerie.
According to the daily Assabah, this decision comes following the alert given by external sources on some suspected cases, in particular the passengers of flight N° TB 7812 from Italy, which landed on Thursday, February 27, at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. In this regard, these specialized brigades are combing the residential areas of the 111 passengers of this flight, one of whom is the first case declared in Morocco, taken care of at the Moulay Youssef Hospital in Casablanca.
The 111 suspected passengers are distributed as follows: Casablanca (34), Khouribga (10), Fez (9), Fkih Ben Saleh (5), El Jadida (5), Benchid (3), Rabat (3), Salé (3), Settat (3), Boulmane-Dades (4), Errachidia (4), Ourzazate (6), Tounante (2) and Bouznika (2).
The cities of Mohammedia, Daroua, Ben Ahmed, Oujda, Oulmes, Midelt and Khemisset also host some passengers from this flight. All these cases are subject to rigorous medical control. They are also invited not to expand the perimeter of their contact with other citizens, by strictly respecting the instructions of the medical teams.
