Morocco Introduces Health Form for Travelers to Combat Coronavirus Spread

Morocco has taken a new measure to deal with the coronavirus. A passenger health form is now required for travelers entering the kingdom.
It is the Ministry of Health, in coordination with all the stakeholders in the fight operation, that has put this measure in place. The objective is to detect, in an early way, possible cases of coronavirus at the entry points to Morocco. Thus, travelers are required to fill out the health form.
According to the explanations of the director of the epidemic and disease control at the Ministry of Health, Mohamed Youbi, this measure constitutes a tool to detect possible cases, locate passengers and ensure the safeguarding of listings for possible contact tracing. This form, he said, will serve as a "liaison point" between the ministry and the various services in charge of the transit points, in order to facilitate coordination and monitoring of the situation.
It will also make it possible to collect information on travelers to Morocco, in particular the date of arrival, the country of origin, the transit city, the flight number, the passport number, or the passenger’s nationality.
After the appearance of the coronavirus in China, Morocco, through its Ministry of Health, has been preparing its response on a permanent basis. It has developed a National Monitoring Plan aimed at preventing the introduction of the epidemic into the national territory, containing its spread, by detecting cases early.
On Friday, February 28, the ministry reassured that no case of coronavirus has been recorded in Morocco so far. Better, the tests carried out on 21 suspected cases proved negative.
