Morocco Implements Preventive Measures Against Coronavirus, Bans Large Events

Although no case of contamination has been discovered in Morocco, the national steering committee, created since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic, announced on Sunday that it continues to monitor the epidemiological situation on an international scale and that additional measures would be taken, if necessary, always with the aim of warding off any case of contamination.

Among the additional measures taken by the committee, there are "the postponement of already scheduled sporting and cultural events, the cancellation of mass gatherings and the management of travel to and from countries experiencing community spread" whose list is published and regularly updated on the website of the Ministry of Health https://www.sante.gov.ma/Pages/Accueil.aspx.

The Government is concerned about the health safety of citizens, and has already called on all travelers returning from countries affected by the virus, to stay away from places of collective gatherings, to monitor their temperature daily for 14 days and to consult a health facility as soon as the slightest sign of illness appears. Emphasis is placed on compliance with the general hygiene measures proposed by the Ministry of Health.

It should be noted that a space dedicated to the disease has been set up on the website and social media accounts of the Ministry of Health and the toll-free number "Allo veille - 0 801 004 747" has been launched for more information on the coronavirus.
