Morocco Bans Cruise Ships and Passenger Vessels Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Morocco temporarily suspends access to its ports for all pleasure, cruise or passenger ships, as part of the implementation of the National Plan for Monitoring and Response to Covid-19.
According to a note from the Merchant Navy Directorate, this provision does not apply to ships carrying exclusively road transport units with their drivers.
Even before this decision, Morocco had suspended, until further notice, air flights and passenger maritime traffic, to and from Spain, France and Italy, which are among the European countries most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Morocco, only eight people have been confirmed positive so far, including four women and five French. The Kingdom has also declared its first death, a woman of 89, who returned from Italy and tested positive a few days later.
