Royal Air Maroc’s profits top 2 billion dirhams as investment jumps twelvefold

In just one year, Royal Air Maroc’s investment has jumped from 291 million to 3.5 billion dirhams. The 2025 figures come from the report on state-owned enterprises accompanying the 2027 draft budget.

Annual profit exceeded two billion dirhams on revenue of 21.5 billion, up 8%. The airline has thus confirmed its return to profitability after recording losses from 2019 to 2022 during the health crisis.

The increase has been especially striking in investment. The previous official report put investment at 291 million dirhams in 2024, following a 74% drop that year. In 2025, it reached about 3.5 billion—more than twelve times the previous amount.

Record profits as the airline expands its fleet

The increase in investment accompanies the growth in the number of aircraft. At the end of September 2026, Royal Air Maroc had around 71 aircraft, compared with about 50 in 2023. To quickly expand its capacity, the national carrier is also turning to leasing while it awaits deliveries under its long-term orders.

The program contract signed with the state calls for a fleet of 200 aircraft by 2037, the launch of more than 100 new international destinations and 46 domestic routes. The first deliveries resulting from the major tender are expected from 2028.

By 2037, Royal Air Maroc is targeting 31.6 million passengers and annual revenue of 94 billion dirhams, compared with the 21.5 billion recorded in 2025.
