Royal Air Maroc: 13 additional Boeing aircraft

The aircraft lessor Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd officially announced on Thursday a strategic partnership with Royal Air Maroc (RAM). This order for 13 Boeing 737-8 aircraft strengthens an initial collaboration that had already seen the delivery of two similar units in 2025. For the Moroccan carrier, this capacity increase is crucial to support the growth of the Kingdom as a major economic and tourist hub in Africa.

The acquisition of these new narrow-body aircraft is part of RAM’s desire to become a leading "global connector". According to Abdelhamid Addou, the company’s CEO, these aircraft will allow the opening of new international routes and the increase of flight frequencies. The stated objective is to improve operational efficiency while meeting the growing demand between the African continent, Europe and America.

This operation foreshadows the ambitious transformation plan of RAM, which plans to acquire 200 aircraft by 2037. While Boeing remains at the center of this immediate agreement, the carrier’s growing interest in Airbus, following technical visits to Toulouse, suggests a possible diversification of the fleet in the medium term. This lease agreement allows the company to secure its immediate growth while awaiting the results of its giant tenders.
