Royal Air Maroc Expands Fleet with Leased Airbus A321s to Meet Summer Demand

"Several planes will be chartered from a leading international company," says Royal Air Maroc (RAM) in a press release. It has not, for the time being, specified the name of the company. "These latest generation aircraft are selected through a rigorous process that respects all safety and security regulations and standards. They have been approved by the civil aviation authorities of the countries where they operate," RAM adds.

"Royal Air Maroc will lease 4 Airbus A321 aircraft from the SmartLynx Airlines company," say sources at Médias24. The first, registered 9H-SLC, will be based in Nador and will operate flights between this Moroccan city and Amsterdam, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt and Brussels. Registered YL-LCV, the second aircraft will be based in Fez and will serve Amsterdam, Marseille, Toulouse, Montpellier and Brussels, etc. The third, registered YL-LCX, will be based in Tangier and will serve Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris Orly and Lyon, while the fourth, registered YL-LDA, will be based in Oujda, and will operate flights between this Moroccan city and Amsterdam, Paris Orly, Marseille and Brussels.

On Monday, RAM announced that "nearly 1,400 additional flights with a capacity of more than 220,000 seats will be scheduled from early July" and that 11 new direct lines linking Moroccan cities to major European cities will be launched.
