Morocco’s Royal Air Maroc Expands Fleet with 20 New Aircraft Ahead of Major Sporting Events

Royal Air Maroc is preparing for future major sporting events organized by the country, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 World Cup. A vast plan to modernize and expand its fleet is underway to meet the expected demand.
According to a statement from the Minister of Transport and Logistics, the company is expecting the delivery of twenty new aircraft between this year and next year. Ten planes are scheduled for 2025, of which three have already been received this week, and ten others are planned for 2026. These deliveries are in addition to the two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with a capacity of 302 seats each, integrated into the fleet last year.
This approach is part of a $25 billion investment program, which aims to quadruple the company’s fleet from 50 to over 200 aircraft. With this in mind, Royal Air Maroc recently concluded a leasing agreement with Dubai Aerospace Enterprise for two Boeing 737-8 MAX.
The company’s ambitions don’t stop there. The results of an international tender for the acquisition of 188 additional aircraft are expected to be announced soon. The goal by 2037 is to be able to transport 31.6 million passengers annually.
This fleet expansion will be accompanied by a network extension. By 2027, Royal Air Maroc plans to inaugurate numerous routes, including four to Europe, six in Africa, two to the Middle East, three to the Americas, and two in Asia, thus strengthening its global connectivity.
