Report: 90% of Moroccan Internet Users Access Web via Mobile Devices

According to the new Digital 2021 report published by We Are Social and Hootsuite, about 90% of Moroccans use a mobile device to access the Internet and especially social networks.
This report indicates that 74.4% of the Moroccan population have access to the Internet (27.62 million Internet users), an increase of 9.1% compared to last year. As of the end of January, 59.3% of the population (about 22 million users) had regular activity on social networks, an increase of 12.8% compared to the same period last year, the report states, specifying that 89.6% of Moroccans access the Internet with a mobile device (smartphones and tablets) and spend an average of 4 hours per day on it.
Between January 2020 and January 2021, 3.47 million Moroccans connected to the Internet with a mobile device, a decrease of 0.5%, the same report indicates, noting that WhatsApp tops the ranking of the most used platforms by Moroccan Internet users aged 16 to 64, with 73.7%, ahead of Facebook (70.5%), YouTube (66.5%), Instagram (51.6%), Messenger (43.8%), TikTok (36.8%) and Snapchat (26.1%).
