Repeat Offender Arrested for Armed Robbery on Casablanca Bus

Elements of the Aïn Sebaa-Hay Mohammadi police district in Casablanca arrested a 28-year-old repeat offender on Friday, August 2, 2019. He is allegedly involved in a case of theft, under threat of a bladed weapon, inside an urban transport bus in Casablanca.
The services of the 36th police station in Hay Mohammadi had received a complaint from a woman who was on board a private urban transport bus, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
According to her, an individual who was on the same bus as her, at the Grande Ceinture station, had stolen her mobile phone, under threat of a bladed weapon.
The police will follow up on this complaint. The judicial investigation made it possible to identify and arrest the suspect, "in a short time".
The search operations resulted in the seizure of the bladed weapon used during the theft, the recovery of the victim’s telephone and the seizure of another mobile phone that could be the loot of other criminal acts, the same source said.
For the moment, the accused has been placed in custody, for the needs of the investigation.
