Suspect Arrested in Armed Robbery of Meknes Money Transfer Agency

Suspected of theft under threat of a bladed weapon, an individual was apprehended by the judicial police elements of the city of Meknes on Tuesday afternoon. According to the initial information, the theft took place in a money transfer agency.
In a statement, the National Security services explained that they had received a telephone call reporting an assault with a threat of a bladed weapon. The suspect would be, according to the reports, a repeat offender aged 24.
The individual seized sums of money after threatening the employee with a bladed weapon. He then fled before the searches and immediate interventions on the ground allowed his location and arrest.
Eyewitnesses claimed to have seen the suspect flee and get rid of the stolen money, according to the statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) which specifies that the investigation conducted on the ground made it possible to recover part of the stolen sum, while a sweeping and investigation operation continues to determine the exact circumstances of this case.
According to the DGSN, the suspect was placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation initiated to elucidate the ins and outs of this case.
