Knife-Wielding Robbers Target Italian Tourists on Casablanca Waterfront

The Casablanca corniche was the scene of a knife attack on Sunday, August 18, 2019. Two Italian tourists walking along the newly developed Casablanca coast were held up by armed individuals.
Under the threat of a knife, the two victims were forced to give up their belongings to avoid physical assault. According to the Kech24 website, the criminals seized their handbags before fleeing in a light vehicle.
Alerted immediately, the elements of the Prefectural Police of Casablanca managed to arrest the two suspects who were taken to the police station. The car, apparently used in many criminal acts, was also confiscated.
The suspects were placed in custody, pending the investigation opened by the police services, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
