Renault Restarts Production in Morocco After COVID-19 Shutdown
Friday 8 May 2020, by
Activities in the two Renault-Morocco factories, in Casablanca and Tangier, have resumed since April 27.
This resumption is effective after the suspension of activities on March 19 in the two Moroccan factories of Renault due to the covid-19 pandemic.
At the Tangier site, the production lines had resumed on April 27, after several trials, while those of Casablanca (SOMACA) were launched on May 4. For the managers of the Renault factories, the resumption is gradual, with only one team out of three, at Renault Tangier.
As for production, it is currently limited to orders placed before the confinement. It will increase gradually depending on demand, we are told.
In addition, Renault Morocco ensures the strict application of the directives of the Moroccan authorities and the health reference framework of the Group which allows a secure restart. The objective is to ensure the safety of all employees.
