Renault to Gradually Reopen Moroccan Auto Plants in Late April

The French automaker announces the "partial and gradual" restart of its two production plants in Tangier and Somaca Casablanca at the end of April.
The Renault Morocco group intends to restart its activities according to a specific schedule for each site, at the end of April. In this sense, the French automaker plans to put in place a flexible organization in order to adapt production to the resumption of markets on the one hand, and to meet its customers’ needs in Morocco and internationally on the other. This, while strictly respecting the health safety guidelines of the Moroccan authorities to curb the spread of covid-19.
On March 19, Renault had suspended its two plants in Tangier and Casablanca. Meanwhile, Renault Commerce Maroc and its commercial network continue to provide service throughout the territory "thanks to an innovative adaptation". This system allows it to meet the priority mobility needs of the health professions, public services and companies continuing their activities, it is specified.
In this health crisis context, the group has also maintained the net monthly remuneration of its 12,000 employees.
