COVID-19 Outbreak: 92 Cases Detected at Renault’s Tangier Auto Plant

A cluster of 92 cases of contamination has been detected at the Renault plant in Tangier as part of a COVID-19 screening campaign launched by the automotive group.
The initial results revealed 32 cases of contamination. On Tuesday, June 23, 60 new cases of contamination were recorded, bringing the number of employees who tested positive for the coronavirus at the Renault plant in Tangier to 92, reports Tanja24.
"The campaign was launched several days ago. We simultaneously launched a massive screening campaign within SOMACA (Société Marocaine de Constructions Automobiles, 100% owned by Renault, editor’s note) in Casablanca and at our plant in Tangier," said an authorized source within Renault Morocco, quoted by LeDesk.
According to her, the screening campaign within SOMACA has been completed, "but in Tangier, we have even more staff, which is why the campaign has taken much longer." "We are waiting for new confirmations, as the screening campaign continues and by the end of the week we could know a little more," adds the same source.
