Morocco Strengthens Health Protocols as Auto Industry Prepares to Restart Production

The Ministry of Health stated on Saturday, May 16, that health safety measures have been strengthened at all sites of automobile manufacturers (Renault Tanger, Somaca Casablanca and PSA Kenitra), in order to protect the health of employees and promote a gradual resumption of industrial activity.
"Since the start of the covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Health and automobile manufacturers have worked closely together to protect the health of their employees and ensure the sustainability of their businesses," the department said in a statement.
The Ministry of Health assures that a set of health measures and protocols have been deployed and strengthened in all production sites in Morocco (Renault Tanger, Somaca Casablanca and PSA Kenitra sites) during the period of production shutdown.
"These protocols make it possible to ensure a gradual and secure restart of the activity in full compliance with health safety conditions," the statement continues. The ministry will specify that the regional health commissions have regularly carried out audit and control missions of the recommended health safety measures.
The Ministry of Health and manufacturers "work together daily to ensure both health safety and continue this activity in order to stimulate the Moroccan automotive ecosystem so that it regains its pre-pandemic level and contributes to the economic recovery of the country," concludes the statement.
