Renault Halts Production at Tangier Plant Amid Global Chip Shortage

The Renault plant in Tangier is suspending its activities this week. The origin of this suspension is the shortage of electronic components at some of its suppliers.
The French automaker Renault has decided to suspend the production of its vehicles at the Tangier plant this week, for three days. Thus, line 2 of this plant will see a 3-day production adjustment, specifies the Diamond group. Like the Renault plant in Sandouville, Renault-Tangier is also affected by the shortage of electronic chips. A widespread shortage.
This suspension comes at a time when orders for Sandero and Duster vehicles are exploding. A blow for the French automaker, which has managed to adapt to the health crisis related to the coronavirus.
