Renault Group Sales Surge 14% Globally, Morocco Leads Africa/Middle East Market

Morocco ranks 11th globally as a customer of the Renault Group and the leading customer in the Africa/Middle East region, where the French automaker’s sales recorded a 14.1% increase compared to the same period in 2022.

According to the quarterly results, the Renault Group sold 535,000 units globally at the end of March, an increase of 14.1% compared to the same period in 2022. The French manufacturer owes this performance in particular to the group’s sales in Europe, which increased by 27.3%. With 127,052 vehicles sold, France retains its position as the leading market by far, ahead of Italy (49,689) and Germany (33,669). Turkey (32,074) and Spain (29,709) follow. Morocco, for its part, is the 11th largest global market for the Renault Group. It is the leading customer of the Renault Group in the Africa/Middle East region and the only country in the region to be among its 15 main markets at the end of March 2023.

The group achieved 11.5 billion euros in revenue in the first quarter, up 29.9%, of which 10.5 billion euros related to Automotive (+29.7%). Mobilize Financial Services (formerly RCI Bank and Services), a company present in Morocco, contributes 974 million euros (+32.2%). "Renault Group is starting the year strongly with a 30% increase in its first-quarter revenue, supported by strong price and product mix effects. The Group is pursuing its commercial policy focused on value by optimizing its pricing and commercial discount policy, and by focusing on the most profitable channels," said Thierry Piéton, the group’s Chief Financial Officer.
