Regional Leader’s Son Detained in Agadir for Alleged Assault, Despite Victim’s Complaint Withdrawal

Involved in a case of "intentional violence", the son of Karim Achengli, member of the Rassemblement national des indépendants (RNI), and president of the Souss-Massa region, was arrested and placed in pre-trial detention.
At 18 years old, the son of the president of the Sous-Massa region overturned a person. The victim, injured to various degrees, was immediately taken to the regional hospital to receive appropriate care. It is the court of first instance of Agadir that ordered the incarceration of the accused, despite the withdrawal of the victim’s complaint.
The justice system refuses to dismiss the case and apparently wants to make an example of it. On Friday, the public prosecutor decided to extend his custody. He will have to remain in detention until October 20, when he will likely be informed of his fate.
