Wealthy Driver Arrested for Injuring Officer, Fleeing Checkpoint in Morocco

A "Oueld lefchouch" (rich kid) was arrested by the royal gendarmerie brigade of Skhirat for having forced a roadblock and injured a gendarme. He was remanded in custody on the orders of the investigating judge at the Rabat Court of Appeal.
"The accused was remanded in custody at the Al Arjat prison in Salé for attempted murder of a gendarme in the performance of his duties and fleeing the scene," reports the daily Al Akhbar, specifying that the 28-year-old man refused to comply with the injunctions of the royal gendarmerie elements stationed at a control checkpoint on the Skhirat-Harhoura road.
"He forced the roadblock, mowed down and injured a gendarme before fleeing towards Rabat where his family lives," the newspaper’s sources indicate. Alerted, the Attorney General of the King at the Rabat Court of Appeal instructed the various security services to identify the accused and arrest him. The young man was arrested less than 24 hours later in the Touarga district of Rabat, in a luxury car.
