Real Madrid Star Benzema in Doubt for Club World Cup After Injury

French international Karim Benzema was substituted due to injury during the match of the 17th day of La Liga between Real Madrid and Valencia (2-0). Will he be absent from the Club World Cup currently taking place in Morocco?
Real Madrid could be without their star Karim Benzema in Morocco, where the 19th edition of the Club World Cup is being held. On Thursday, the French international came off injured during the La Liga match against Valencia. He injured the back of his thigh, almost at the level of the knee after attempting a shot. Examined by the Madrid doctors, the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner left the Bernabeu pitch shaking his head. This is enough to worry the fans. He could be ruled out of the Mondialito matches.
The 2022 Club World Cup is taking place from February 1 to 11, 2023 in Morocco. The matches will be held in Rabat, at the Stade Moulay-Abdallah (53,000 seats), and in Tangier, at the Ibn-Batouta stadium (65,000 seats). Real Madrid (Champions League), Flamengo (Copa Libertadores), Wydad Casablanca (African Champions League), Seattle Sounders (CONCACAF Champions League), Auckland City (Oceania Champions League), Al-Hilal (nominated by the AFC) and Al-Ahly (African Champions League finalist) are the competing clubs.
