FIFA Club World Cup: Wydad Casablanca Eyes $5 Million Prize in Morocco Tournament

For its participation in the Club World Cup, Wydad Casablanca will receive a very nice bonus from FIFA. The competition will take place from February 1 to 11, 2023 in Morocco.
In total, seven teams will take part in the Club World Cup, including Wydad Casablanca, winner of the African Champions League. The matches will be played at the Grand Stade de Tanger and the Moulay Abdellah Complex in Rabat.
The participating clubs will share $16.5 million, according to FIFA. In detail, $5 million will be paid to the winner, while the runner-up will pocket $4 million. The other participants will not be forgotten either, as FIFA will grant a bonus of $2.5 million for 3rd place and $2 million for 4th place. The one who finishes 5th will receive a check for $1.5 million, while the 6th will leave with $1 million. The last one will receive $500,000.
In addition to Wydad, the competition will see the participation of Al Ahly, the reigning African vice-champion. These representatives of the continent will face off against the European champion, Real Madrid, the winner of the Copa Libertadores, Flamengo, the winner of the CONCACAF Champions League, the Seattle Sounders, the Asian Champions League champion, Al Hilal, and Auckland, who won the OFC Champions League.
