Real Madrid Set for FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco After Busy La Liga Schedule

Real Madrid, the reigning European champions, will arrive in Rabat on February 6 to participate in the Mondialito, scheduled from February 1 to 13 in Morocco.

Before heading to the kingdom for this tournament, Carlo Ancelotti’s team faces a very difficult schedule of at least three league matches, against Real Sociedad (January 29, 19th matchday), Valencia CF (February 2, 17th matchday) and Real Mallorca (February 5, 20th matchday), according to the La Liga calendar.

After these matches, the Merengues will arrive in Morocco the next day, accompanied by a delegation of 140 members. In case of qualification for the final of the tournament, they will be joined by several hundred supporters.

According to the program established by FIFA, the Spanish club will start the competition in the semi-final stage. Karim Benzema and his teammates will try to succeed Chelsea, the trophy holder. But first, the Merengues must get through this phase, facing the winner of the Seattle Sounders FC quarter-final and the club that will emerge from the Al Ahly-Auckland City playoff.

Note that the first team to set foot on Moroccan soil is that of Auckland City. Photos of their arrival at Rabat airport have been published on the FRMF website. The New Zealanders, who hold the record for participations (9 times), have prepared in Barcelona.
