Ramadan 2020 Expected to Begin April 25 in Morocco and North Africa

Most Muslims around the world eagerly await the arrival of Ramadan, the month of fasting, prayer and alms, where forgiveness and repentance are legion, especially during the long religious vigils and the Night of Destiny.

For the year 1441, the start date of the sacred month in Morocco is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2020, according to the data of universal astronomical calculations. On this date, the crescent moon will be visible in the countries of North Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

A large majority of Arab countries express reservations about the use of universal astronomical calculations and prefer to observe the crescent moon to announce the start of Ramadan. Despite all these doubts, the start date of Ramadan will be announced for April 25, 2020.
