Moroccan Astronomer Predicts April 25 Start for Ramadan 2020

On his Facebook page, the Moroccan astronomer Hicham El Aissaoui announced the date for the start of the month of Ramadan 2020.

According to Hicham El Aissaoui, known for the accuracy of his forecasts, the first day of the holy month of Ramadan in Morocco is April 25. According to him, Moroccans will observe the fast for 29 days, while Saudis will fast for 30 days.

The Moroccan astronomer stated that Morocco and Saudi Arabia will celebrate Eid al-Fitr on the same day this year, May 24. El Aissaoui’s forecasts are identical to those of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan.

The fast of the month of Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam. Throughout this month, Muslims of the required age, according to the prescriptions of Islam, must not eat, drink, smoke, or have sexual relations, from dawn to sunset.
