Moroccan Astronomer Predicts Ramadan 2020 to Begin April 25

According to the calculations of the Moroccan astronomer, Abdelaziz Kharbouch Al Ifrani, the month of Ramadan begins on April 25 in Morocco.
Moroccans will fast for 29 days, specified this astronomer whose calculations are credible. The Moroccan astronomer announced on April 15 that the month of Ramadan will start on April 25.
According to the astronomy specialist, the conjunction of the sun and the moon will take place on April 23 at 2:26 GMT +1, Morocco’s time zone. "Whenever the period between the conjunction [between the crescent moon and the sun] and the time for evaluation is short, the possibility of observation will be unlikely". According to Al Ifrani, observers will not be able to see the crescent moon with the naked eye at its projected height.
For his part, Hicham El Aissaoui, another Moroccan astronomer, said that Moroccans will fast for 29 days while Saudis will fast for 30 days. According to the astronomer, Eid al-Fitr will take place on May 24 in Morocco. This year, Moroccans will celebrate the holiday on the same day as the Saudis, added El Aissaoui.
