Moroccan Astronomer Predicts Eid Al-Fitr to Begin May 24

The probable date of the celebration of Eid Al-Fitr, in Morocco is known. It has just been revealed by the astronomer Abdulaziz Kharbouch Al Ifrani.
The astronomer told Morocco World News that the first day of Shawwal - the tenth month of the Islamic calendar - will be May 24, and will mark the first day of Eid Al-Fitr, or the feast of the breaking of the fast in Morocco.
According to Al Ifrani, the observation of the moon would be possible on May 23 with the naked eye. He explained that the meeting of the sun and the moon, or the conjunction, will take place on Friday, May 22 at exactly 7:40 p.m. According to the astronomer, most Islamic countries will celebrate Eid Al-FItr on the same day.
Al Ifrani had told MWN that the start date of the month of Ramadan would be April 25; which had been confirmed by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.
