Ramadan 2020 Begins April 24 in Europe Amid COVID-19 Restrictions

Astronomers have announced the start date of the month of Ramadan in Europe. This year, fasting will take place in confinement, away from mosques and family gatherings.
According to astronomers, the first day of the month of Ramadan 2020, corresponding to the year 1441 of the Hegira, will be on Friday, April 24 in Europe. And this, after the observation of the crescent moon in the evening of April 23.
And to specify that the month of Ramadan should begin on Thursday, April 23 in the United Kingdom; Friday, April 24 in North America, Saudi Arabia and Turkey; and Friday, April 24 in Morocco.
Pew Research Center statistics indicate that Muslims represented about 5% of the European population in 2016. A number in full growth. France has the largest Muslim population in Europe, with nearly 9% of people identifying with the religion.
