Rabat Tramway Line 2 Extension to Open in February, Serving 270,000 Residents

The extension of line 2 of the Rabat tramway will be put into service at the end of February, announces the Rabat-Salé Tramway Company (STRS).
7 kilometers long, this extension required an investment of 1.7 billion dirhams, STRS says, specifying that the current progress rate of the work is 90% in Rabat and 40% in Salé.
This new extension will serve the Yaacoub Al Mansour district and its 135,000 inhabitants through 4 new stations, while in Salé the extension will cross Zarbia Avenue to the new Salé hospital over 4.6 km, serving 135,000 inhabitants through 8 new stations.
The work on this new line was launched in October 2017 by King Mohammed VI, and ultimately it is planned to serve the city of Temara, about 20 kilometers from Rabat.
