Rabat-Salé Tramway Extension: Test Runs to Begin on New Salé Line Next Week

The delivery of the work on the extension project of line 2 of the tramway network connecting Rabat to Salé is just a matter of days. Indeed, the Rabat Salé Tramway Company (STRS) will start circulation tests from next week.
The tramway network connecting Rabat to Salé is in full development. After the delivery of the extension work on the Rabat side over 2 km, it is the turn of the Salé side to also undergo circulation tests from next week, reports l’Économiste.
According to the confidences of the STRS managers, the construction work of the future tramway crossing bridge above Avenue Ain Houala in Salé is practically completed. Its completion is scheduled for January next year, at the latest.
As for the rolling stock, the Rabat Salé Tramway Company (STRS) informs that its fleet will be reinforced by the acquisition of 22 Citadis-Alstom tramway trains, while reassuring that it has already received 18. All these works will undoubtedly relieve the daily suffering of the populations.
