Rabat-Salé Tramway Hits 273 Million Passengers, Sees Record Daily Ridership

Since its commissioning in May 2011, the Rabat-Salé Tramway has transported more than 273 million passengers. According to data published by the company, the network records an average of 110,000 journeys per day (working days), and a weekend attendance, which averages 70,000 journeys per day.
The revenue generated through the sale of single tickets represents 73% of the total revenue, according to the company, which has 17,341 active subscription contracts, 54% of which come from students. The company mentions a "good" financial performance since 2012.
The company attributes this result to an optimized network (route, sizing) that is very well attended, combined with good control of operating costs.
