Fatal Tramway Accident in Casablanca Claims Woman’s Life, Raising Safety Concerns

A woman lost her life on Thursday in Casablanca after being hit by a tramway, according to local sources. The tragedy took place on Ali Yata Street.
The victim was crossing the track when she was fatally hit by the tramway. Immediately informed, the civil protection elements rushed to the scene to transfer the victim’s body to the morgue. An investigation has been opened to determine the ins and outs of this accident.
Since 2012, when the city of Casablanca launched the tramways, more than 600 traffic accidents have been recorded, resulting in 15 deaths, according to statistics from the company in charge of managing the city’s Tramway.
