Casablanca Tram Derails After Truck Runs Red Light, Driver Hospitalized

An irresponsible truck driver collided, on Tuesday, with a tram near the Hôpital Sidi Moumen station. No loss of life was deplored apart from one injured.
This accident occurred due to non-compliance with the highway code. The truck driver hit the tram that had left the Maintenance Center to enter service on line T1, after running a red light.
According to RATP Développement, the violence of the impact caused the derailment of the train and injured the tram driver. The victim was rushed to the hospital. For the delegatee, it is the umpteenth accident that has occurred due to non-compliance with the highway code.
After 45 minutes of interruption, traffic on line T1 resumed after the train was rerailed.
