Casablanca Tramway Ridership Soars to 200,000 Daily Passengers

The tramway in Casablanca is a success. Thus, 200,000 people have used this new means of transport daily since the start of the school year last September.
In a press release, RATP Dev, the operator of the Casablanca tramway, indicates that line 2 has doubled its ridership in less than six months and now reaches an average of 80,000 passengers per day during this period. Its on-board occupancy rate is higher than that recorded by the first line six months after its launch.
Line 1 is not lagging behind either, as it is also experiencing a very strong increase in its ridership, with an average of 140,000 passengers per day now. Regarding the Sidi Moumen - Faculties section, line 1 recorded a 21% increase in ridership between September 2018 and September 2019, and +22.5% between October 2018 and October 2019, it is specified.
In total, according to RATP Dev, 220,000 Casablancans on average travel daily by tramway, with a record, to date, recorded on October 2 with 243,708 people having used the Casablanca tramway.
It should be noted that this increase in ridership on the two lines has been accompanied by an improved service offer since November 12. The tramway is now available every 5 minutes on line 1 during peak hours in the morning and evening, and every 8 minutes on line 2, RATP Dev informs, which is pleased with the number of subscribers (70% of passengers).
