Rabat: Prince Moulay El Hassan inaugurates the Mohammed VI Tower, a new symbol of Morocco

On the orders of King Mohammed VI, the Crown Prince officially opened the doors of this 55-story skyscraper. During his visit, he discovered the main hall, the library, and the luxury facilities of the Waldorf Astoria hotel. The tour ended at the top, in an observatory offering a breathtaking view of the ramparts and the ancient gates of the cities of Rabat and Salé.

Erected on foundations 60 meters deep, the tower is designed to withstand earthquakes and river floods. A special damping system limits the oscillations caused by the wind. The architecture incorporates photovoltaic panels and a rainwater harvesting system, allowing the building to display the LEED Gold and HQE environmental certifications.

Carried by the O Capital Group, this vertical complex houses offices, residences, and shops served by 36 elevators. The project brings together economic, hotel, and residential activities within the same perimeter. The ceremony was attended by many local officials, including the wali of the region and the CEO of the group, Othman Benjelloun.
