Morocco’s Mohammed VI Tower Nears Completion, Set to Become Africa’s Second Tallest

The Mohammed VI Tower is in its completion phase in Rabat. At 250 meters high, it will be the second tallest tower in Africa.
Located between Rabat and Salé, on the banks of the Bouregreg, the Mohammed VI Tower is almost completed. The ongoing work concerns the interior embellishment and the completion of the exterior accesses, reports L’Opinion. Majestic, the Tower is visible within a 50-kilometer radius. The work was carried out by the company O Tower, owned by BMCE Bank, RMA Watanya and the holding company O Capital Group led by Othman Benjelloun.
The tower will have 55 floors and will have offices, high-end apartments, a luxury hotel, as well as a panoramic observatory to be installed at its summit. Its facade will be equipped with photovoltaic panels, proof of the Moroccan authorities’ commitment to the development of renewable energies. An ecological dimension given to this large-scale project, the Mohammed VI Tower being designed to symbolize the modernization and sustainable development of Morocco.
"The Mohammed VI Tower is not just a building, it is a message. A message addressed to the world, affirming Morocco’s place among the nations that count. It is also a message addressed to Moroccan youth, inviting them to think big, to dare, to innovate," explains historian Mohammed Es-Semmar, defender of Rabat’s heritage and specialist in the history of the Bouregreg river.
He will add: "When observing this construction site, one immediately thinks of the challenges represented by such a project. Building the second tallest tower in Africa is no small feat, especially when aiming for excellence in both architectural and environmental terms. It is a bold bet, in the image of a Morocco that is resolutely projecting itself into the future while remaining faithful to its values." The Tower will establish itself as an essential tourist site, contributing to increasing the tourist attractiveness of the Rabat-Salé region.
