Rabat Police Chief Suspended for Violating COVID-19 Protocols

The police commissioner of the security district in Rabat has been suspended for failing to implement the emergency health measures.
Justifying this suspension, the General Directorate of National Security indicated in a press release that the person concerned had transported two foreign nationals of Arab nationality on board the service vehicle to a hotel.
The defendant had then driven his guests, in violation of the health confinement, to a hospital when they were required to present a medical certificate.
Questioned, the defendant was subjected to disciplinary proceedings. In light of the results of the investigation, the council will rule on the professional misconduct and take the necessary sanctions.
