Moroccan Police Officer Suspended for Misconduct Caught on Video
A police officer from the mobile law and order brigade in Rabat was temporarily suspended by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). He will also be referred to the disciplinary council for professional misconduct and personal violations.
The police officer, who was on sick leave, is accused of violating the disciplinary obligations imposed by the special status of the personnel of the national security. The details provided by a press release from the DGSN indicate that the person concerned also had "inappropriate behavior when he was heading towards the security control point in the city of Salé". Behaviors contrary to the pre-established rules, and "recorded in videos published on social networks".
The same source reports that in parallel with these administrative procedures, "the prefectural security services have been instructed to open a preliminary investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office to determine all the circumstances of this case".
