Qatar Pledges Support for Morocco’s 2030 World Cup Co-Hosting Bid

Qatar has decided to support Morocco in the co-organization of the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal. A reciprocal gesture.
Qatar wants to return the favor to Morocco. During his appearance on the beIN Sports channel, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmad Al Thani, Qatari Minister of Sports and Youth, stated that all of Qatar’s human and intellectual capacities are available and at the disposal of Morocco to help and support it in the co-organization of the 2030 World Cup. According to him, contacts have already been established with the Moroccan side to offer any necessary assistance, whether in terms of human resources or ideas and studies, at any time the Moroccan authorities express the need. The Qatari official also revealed that a meeting will soon take place between the 2030 World Cup Organizing Committee and the Supreme Committee for Projects and Legacy in Qatar, which was the entity in charge of organizing the 2022 World Cup.
In 2022, Morocco had provided its expertise to Qatar, which was organizing the World Cup. Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security, had sent seasoned commissioners and officers to Qatar in October of the same year to lead the delegation tasked with contributing to the security of the stadiums during the World Cup, which took place from November 20 to December 18, 2022. At the end of this mission, the Qatari management of the international police cooperation center, during a reception, praised the professionalism and expertise of the Moroccan security delegation. It also expressed its gratitude for its participation in the security system put in place.
