Spain Fears Losing 2030 World Cup Final to Morocco’s New Mega-Stadium

Spain is worried about the prospect of Morocco snatching the organization of the 2030 World Cup final from it.
The appeal of the Grand Stade de Casablanca with its record capacity (115,000 spectators) and exceptional facilities makes Spain fear that it could lose the organization of the 2030 World Cup final. "I hope the problems of Spanish football will not have consequences at the global level. The fact that Spain does not host the 2030 World Cup final will be considered a failure of the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the government," said David Aganzo Méndez, president of the Asociación de Futbolistas Españoles (AFE), the Spanish footballers’ union, to the Futboljobs website. He is pessimistic. "We have to be realistic and aware that Morocco is taking advantage of the situation to try to host the 2030 World Cup final, which should take place in Spain," he added.
On the Moroccan side, preparations for the co-organization of the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal are progressing well. The ministerial departments are working to ensure the realization of the projects dedicated to this football showpiece within the set deadlines, in application of the instructions of King Mohammed VI. Recently, nine ministers, presidents of the regional councils concerned, as well as several presidents and representatives of the municipal councils participated in a meeting organized at the Ministry of the Interior.
